John S. Powell has over 40
years experience in civil litigation, including personal injury,
family law, business law, contract law, consumer law (DTPA), real
estate, insurance law, aviation law (FAA), environmental law (TCEQ),
medical malpractice, and wrongful death cases in Brazoria County,
Galveston County, Harris County, Fort Bend County, Montgomery County
and many other counties across the state. He also handles
serious felony and misdemeanor criminal cases.
Gerri Powell, Paralegal
Gerri Powell, John’s wife, has been John’s paralegal for many,
many years – long before computers began being used. She typed
documents on electric typewriters and used carbons to create legal
documents, pleadings and motions. Much has obviously changed since
then. Gerri acts as our office manager but still drafts real estate
documents, wills, petitions and correspondence, helps with trial
preparation, and is an excellent listener. Clients love her.
Lyndsey Noah, Paralegal
Lyndsey Noah is our video and computer wiz. She has been with
our firm since John successfully won a medical negligence lawsuit
against the Houston Veterans Administration Hospital for her father.
She says that trial caused her to want to be a lawyer. She has
become a proficient paralegal, deals with clients, sets up
power-point and video presentations, and is John’s first assistant
during trials. If you call our office, Lyndsey will most likely be
the friendly young lady answering your call.
